Registrera råttor / Register Rats

Nedan kommer lite information om hur du registrerar råttor i Ratalog.

1. Börja med att söka i Ratalog (www.ratalog.se) för att dubbelkolla att inte råttan du vill lägga till finns där. Detta för att undvika dubbeljobb helt enkelt.

2. Finns inte råttan lägger du till den i databasen genom att använda någon av formulären i "Add Data". De enklaste formulären är "Add Rat" och "Add Litter".

VIKTIGT ATT TÄNKA PÅ:

När du lägger in råttor i systemet, glöm inte bort att ange ditt namn och din mailadress överst i formuläret.

Kom ihåg att lägga till uppfödare, allra helst också ägare till råttorna du lägger in.

Kom ihåg att ange kön på råttan!

Kom ihåg att ange råttans fullständiga namn inklusive uppfödarprefix. Detta oavsett om uppfödaren är registrerad i någon klubb eller inte. Om du är osäker på prefixets stavning, sök i Ratalog efter tidigare exempel eller kontakta uppfödaren och fråga.

Använd rätt apostroftecken! Exempel: Adrian's är rätt medan Adrian´s är fel. Alla felaktiga behöver jag manuellt ändra för att det inte ska bli knasiga tecken i Ratalog. Save me some time och gör rätt från början. 🙂

Om du t.ex. ska lägga in en råtta (Add Rat) eller en kull (Add Litter) och ska välja föräldrar så måste du trycka på "Search" vid "Sire/Father" och "Dam/Mother". Det räcker alltså inte att bara skriva in namnet utan du måste söka fram dem i databasen (med andra ord måste föräldrarna finnas i databasen för att du ska kunna lägga till dem som föräldrar). En tråkig grej med sökfunktionen här är att det inte går att använda sig av mellanrum (helt enkelt för att jag inte lyckats koda för mellanrum). Vill du söka på Mobackens Pelle så söker du på Mobackens eller Pelle och väljer sedan rätt råtta i listan. Använd inga mellanrum i sökfältet alltså! (förhoppningsvis kommer jag hitta en bättre lösning för detta så småningom).

Formulären är olika uppbyggda utifrån de behov du har. Ett generellt tips är att försöka lägga till så många råttor som möjligt åt gången. Det spar tid för både mig och dig. Det är också mer tidsbesparande om man börjar med att lägga in föräldrar till en råtta i Ratalog och först i nästa steg lägga in en hel kull. (Du måste då vänta på att jag godkänt och lagt in föräldrarna innan du kan gå till nästa steg).

Om du vill lägga till en kull men ser att någon av syskonen redan finns i Ratalog så lägger du till den ungen i kullen med. Så länge de stavar exakt lika kommer databasen att lägga ihop dem till en råtta. All ny info kommer att skrivas över den gamla infon men info som du inte ändrar stannar kvar som den var innan.

Here's some information about how to register rats in Ratalog.

1. Start by searching after the rat in Ratalog (www.ratalog.se) just to double check that your rat isn't already in the database. This is to avoid unnecessery work.

2. If you can't find the rat in the database you go to the page "Add Data" and use some of the forms on that page. The most usual and easy forms are "Add Rat" and "Add Litter".

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:

When you register rats, remember to add your name and email-adress.

Remember to add the breeder to the rat, and the owner. A letter code, and not their names will not show in the database.

Remember to add gender of the rat!

Remember to add the rats full name including breeders prefix even if the breeder isn't registered in any club. If you aren't sure about the spelling of the breeder prefix, make a search in the Ratalog database to see earlier examples or contact the breeder and ask!

Use the right type of apostroph sign! Example: Adrian's is right whilst Adrian´s is wrong. I need to change all wrong signs. Save me some time and do it right from the beginning. 🙂

If you are using the (Add Rat)-form or (Add Litter)-form and are going to add parents you need to write their names in the form area and click "Search" at "Sire/Father" and "Dam/Mother". In other words you can't just add their name, you need to search for them (and they need to be in the database before you register descendants). Unfortunately you can't use middle space in theese search areas (haven't found out how to code for space). If you want to search for Mobackens Pelle you write Mobackens or Pelle and then choose your rat from that list. So no spacings in the search area! (hopefully I will solve this some time).

The forms are built from different needs. A tip is to try to add as many rats at the time as possible. This saves time both for you and me. It's also quicker to add the parents before you add the descentant (like a litter). You need to wait for me to add the parents to the database before you can go to the next step and add the litter.

If you want to add a litter but know that one of the sibblings are already in the database you add that cub in the litter anyway. As long as you spell it exactly the same the database will merge them to be the same rat. All of the new info will be written over the old and the info you don't change will stay as it is.
